1. Introduction
Smart Sales Ledger ("the App") is developed and operated by Genio India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information that is necessary to provide the sales ledger service.
2.1 Account Registration
When you create an account, you provide:
- Company Name
- Company Type
- Your Name (owner/user name)
- Mobile Number — used for login and OTP verification
- Password
- Address
- IP Address — collected automatically at registration and password reset for security purposes
2.2 Customer Data You Enter
When you add customers in the App, you enter:
- Customer Name
- Customer Mobile Number (optional)
- Customer Address (optional)
- Customer Landmark (optional)
- Customer Avatar (selected from a pre-loaded image grid)
2.3 Business Transaction Data You Enter
- Sale entries: date, customer, product, quantity, price, received amount
- Payment entries: remark, payment amount
- Products: product name, price, stock quantity, product image (from your device camera or gallery)
2.4 Device & Usage Data
We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry automatically. If the App encounters an error, diagnostic information may be logged locally on your device only.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Device Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions only when needed for specific features:
- Camera — used only when you choose to take a photo for a product image. We do not access your camera at any other time.
- Photo Library / Storage — used only when you choose to pick a product image from your gallery.
- Phone / Dialer — used only when you tap the Call button on a customer's screen to dial their number directly. The App does not make calls automatically or read your call log.
- Internet — required to sync your data with the server and to verify OTPs.
5. Data Storage & Security
All your data — accounts, customers, products, sales, and payment entries — is stored on secure servers hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is one of the world's leading cloud infrastructure providers and maintains industry-standard physical and network security.
Data is transmitted between the App and our servers exclusively over HTTPS (encrypted connections). We do not transmit your data over unencrypted channels.
On your device, the App stores your login credentials (mobile number and password) in encrypted secure storage only when you enable the Omit Next Time option on the login screen. This data is stored on-device and is not accessible to other apps.
6. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — our backend servers and data storage run on AWS infrastructure. Your data resides on AWS servers. See AWS Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — displays banner advertisements in the App on free/trial plans. Google may collect advertising identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Store — handles subscription payments and in-app purchases on Android. Payment information is processed entirely by Google and is not shared with us. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store — handles subscription payments and in-app purchases on iOS. Payment information is processed entirely by Apple and is not shared with us. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- System Share Sheet — when you share a balance reminder or report PDF, the App uses your device's built-in share functionality (WhatsApp, SMS, email, etc.). We do not control or store what you share or with whom.
7. Data You Choose to Share
The App allows you to share a customer's balance reminder (via the Message button on a customer's screen) and to share or download a sales report as a PDF. These actions are initiated by you. We do not send any messages or share any data on your behalf without your explicit action.
8. Data Retention
Your data is retained on our servers as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at support@genioindia.co.in.
Individual customer records can be deleted from within the App (settled customers only — see the FAQ for instructions). Deleting a customer removes all their associated ledger entries.
9. Children's Privacy
Smart Sales Ledger is a business application intended for use by adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
